Hau grows at low elevations near shorelines and along streams, and tolerates salt. Its yellow flowers last for one day before turning dark red and dropping. Strong cord can be bade from the inner bark fibers, and the wood is lightweight and buoyant.
All seed packets are 4.75″ tall x 3.25″ wide and ≤ 4 grams (.008 lbs).
